This week, students presented their research conducted by them. They expressed their understanding of the different food groups and how these impact our health. It was done through both paper and digital presentations.
Students also watched a video about food groups and food pyramid to further strengthen their understanding.
During the language lessons, students were introduced to 'Journal Writing' and were given a choice to select a writing prompt. We also read a book titled 'The Diary of a Wombat' to compare and contrast with the 'Diary of a Worm'.
The writing prompts were displayed on the screen for the students to choose from them.
In Maths, students are
inquiring into the concept of the place value of numbers. They were assigned with numbers in a group. On announcing
certain numbers, they were to take their positions in the ‘Place value houses’
to create 4 and 5-digit numbers. They swapped places with the others to create
more numbers to further inquire into the concept of comparison and ordering of
numbers.

As a follow-up, students used varied Maths manipulatives like Base 10 blocks, Dice, Mann and number cards in different centres to understand the concepts of comparing numbers, ordering numbers in ascending and descending order, and expanding 4 and 5-digit numbers. It was interesting to witness students learning through play.
They also created and solved some riddles related to the place value of numbers.
During the Fun Zone, students and teachers learned to make loom bands and slime.
Students watched an example of the diary entry and started their personal journals. They are happy to create and decorate their own diaries. These diary entries will be shared with their buddies.
For the SEL lesson, we went on a sensory walk and read a book aloud called 'Oh! Behave, Manners at School'.
Students further inquired about a balanced diet and the food plate. They have been guided to consciously observe if they consume all the required nutrients during the day.
For the personal inquiries, students came up with their questions to deepen their understanding of their passions.
During the guided reading sessions, students read and listened to the ORT books in groups.
In their additional language lessons, students have taken the initiative to do mindfulness, and they also have created posters with slogans as per their unit in Hindi.
In Telugu lessons, students have used flash cards to create and narrate stories. They have been practising for the upcoming assembly for the Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam.
