Students came back to school all excited with so much to talk to each other! We played the game 'I share common grounds with' while discussing their holidays. They also wrote about the most interesting part and no so interesting part of their holidays in their books.
Students had fun while playing outdoors on a Monday morning.
During their writing lesson, students looked at and read a book aloud on Kids A to Z. Ms. Elizabeth introduced a few gestures for the different conventions we have learned so far. Students used these gestures to identify the conventions while reading the book. They were then guided to revisit their writing piece from the morning and edit it by adding conventions wherever necessary.
For the Maths session, students revisited the concepts learned so far through games and practise. They especially enjoyed the odd and even game.
Students also revisited their goals to reflect on how far they have been able to achieve them and what needs to be done further.
During the UOI lessons, students researched the definition and meaning of the words- risks and hazards. They also watched a video to make themselves of the difference between the two. To further inquire into these, they collaborated and worked in groups by analyzing the picture prompts and identifying the risks and hazards.
Students practising Maths concepts by solving problems provided to them.
During the Fun Zone, Meera shared something interesting about friendship, and Keshav displayed some Basketball tricks.
The highlight of this week was our Junior School assembly and celebration of lights. Students thoroughly enjoyed participating in the event.
Students understood the differences and similarities between fiction and nonfiction picture books through activities and discussion. Now, they are ready to write their own nonfiction picture book.
During their Hindi lesson, students read Hindi Haiku poems related to natural disasters and presented their holiday projects.
For their enrichment activity on Friday, students were guided to play the sport of Volleyball.
Students had fun learning, celebrating, and playing during the week. Wishing all the students and their families a very happy and prosperous Diwali! :)
