It is sure that all students have enjoyed their Diwali break as it coincided with the weekend. Hope the festival was celebrated with lots of lights and love around.
Though it was a short week, students had a lot of learning and fun over the three days.
For their Maths inquiry, learners have been introduced to bar modelling to solve problems related to addition. They are enjoying the process of the same as they collaborate with their peers at times and sometimes practise it individually.
Students have also been planning and inquiring into their personal inquiries. Some of the students came up with their presentations on Friday this week.
For their language lesson this week, students identified the author's purpose from the guided reading books they read last week. They were also asked to respond to the question: Did the author achieve his/her purpose? If yes, find the evidence from the book to support your response.
For their UOI sessions, students came with some questions for their current unit. This gives them an opportunity to get deeper into the inquiry process and research.
Students practised Maths problems related to the concept of addition with and without renaming with the help of different strategies like splitting using the place value, illustrating, expansion, and bar modelling. They also solved picture or story problems.
For Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), Ms Latha helped students develop their communication skills and the techniques of communicating effectively through 'Conversation Starters'. She had some picture flashcards with an idea of how to begin a conversation. It was first demonstrated by the teachers to make the students understand. Thereafter, the students communicated with their buddies using flashcards. Then, they shared their conversations with the whole class.
During their guided reading lesson, students were redivided into groups consisting of both sections' students. They read their books aloud to their peers and teachers. As a follow-up, they were guided to write the beginning, middle, and end of the story/book read.
For the Enrichment activity, students are enjoying the Volleyball Coaching.
During the Hindi lessons, students continued with the Haiku poems.

Hello Ms. Anjum! Rishaan enjoyed every single activity this week. He was delighted to share his presentation, was happy to learn about the conversation starters and enjoyed the weekend reading! Thank you so much!
