On Monday, we played the game of Taboo, focussing on the different natural disasters. Students enjoyed playing the game along with guessing the names. This was followed by a rich discussion of what they already know about natural disasters. Some picture prompts were also displayed on the screen to provoke their thinking.
During our writing lesson, the focus was on one of the 6 traits of writing- Conventions. Students went around the school to observe and identify the different conventions that are used at different places. Conventions like full stop/period, capitalization, comma, apostrophe, speech marks and so on.

On Tuesday, we had an assembly where the daycare and Grade 4 students presented. The theme for this assembly by Grade 4 was Sustainability. They provided us with a lot of information and tips to be sustainable in our lives.
In Maths, students have been practising rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100, and 1000 and they have helped their buddies to understand the concept. This time was consciously given to them for peer learning.
They also created number patterns using the strategy of skip counting through a given template of a number wheel (students gave it a name). :)
This last week of the mid-term has been buzzy and busy with lots of exciting things happening around. Students displayed great enthusiasm while preparing and executing their 'Celebration of learning.' Parents who attended were all in praises for the students being so confident in sharing their learning.
