Spectacular Seventeenth Week

This week, students continued to deepen their understanding of the SDG- Climate Change through article reading and comprehension.
They also discussed the different factors that shape cultures. A book called 'How My Parents Learned to Eat' by Ina Friedman was read aloud to the students. As a follow-up, students identified the similarities and differences between the two cultures mentioned in the book. They were given a choice of writing them in a Venn Diagram or a T-Chart.
Students also practised solving story, picture, and number problems to apply their understanding of the concepts of subtraction and addition. They used different strategies to solve the problems and enjoyed learning in groups and centres.
Another book titled 'Same, Same, but Different' by Jenny Sue was read aloud to students based on two different cultures. Students were encouraged to have pen pals and write letters to their friends and family during the winter break.
Students continue to practise Maths concepts in centres.
As a part of his action, Keshav shares his Kindness newspaper articles every month.
A Fine, Fine School is a book that can be connected with our AK Strand- Governance and Civil Society. We could also connect with our school- Academy's culture while reading the book.
On Friday, students of the Junior School attended the 'Winter Fest' conducted by the Senior School students. Food, games, dances and a variety of activities happening from 2 PM. They also had stalls for a good cause as a part of their service learning project.
It was amazing to see how students enjoyed being a part of this fiesta. Up next is the most awaited Junior School event- The Musical.
