This week, students enjoyed learning about data handling. They read and drew the Pictographs, Bar graphs, and Line graphs. They also analyzed and interpreted the data provided. Some students also volunteered to explain their understanding to their peers.
During the language lessons, students focussed on one of the 6+1 traits of writing-'Sentence Fluency'. They recapitulated the concepts of subject, predicate, verb, phrase, and agreement. They watched videos pertaining to these followed by identifying them with in different sentences provided to them.
For their guided reading session, students read the books in their groups and identified the subject, predicate and the verbs. They were guided to write the same in their books.
For the UOI sessions, students completed the video on Age of Exploration followed by designing questions for their inquiry and research based on the seven key concepts. It was a bus stop activity where the students worked in groups and changes the stations to add their questions for each of the concepts.
These questions were discussed later to come up with guiding questions for their research. Students are required to read about different explorers to find the varied reasons for exploration.
During the personal inquiry lesson, a couple of students could present their passion projects. There were some more projects to be presented which will continued next week.
Students participated in Literature circle activities after listening to a story called Rangnna. They displayed their understanding through different VTR tasks. They also borrowed a Hindi book from the library. As a follow up they have done an activity in peer group using the book they chose from the library.
For the Enrichment activity, students enjoyed playing Football with their friends and coach.
It was an energetic fun-filled week.
