The week began with sharing achievements and action taken by a student from our class. Thereafter, students were provided with picture cubes and were guided to write a story focusing on the elements and the structure of the story. This was to encourage their creative thinking skills.
During Maths lessons, students practised the concept of division by solving number, picture, and story problems.
They also reflected on their learning of the concept of multiplication through the gestures of Solo Taxonomy. To analyse their reflections further, data handling was introduced to them using the strategy of CORI. The data was then collected from the students as their first step. It was organized using Tally marks, and then represented the same using a bar graph. The last step was interpreting the data which was done by responding to some questions.
For UOI, students played scavenger hunt using the clues provided by the teachers. They had to look for those in the Junior School. Once they found the clues, they had to guess them. This was followed by identifying the continents and their countries and create a world map. They also created sea routes from one country to another.
During Fun Zone, students conducted sessions like painting, Origami, paper craft, and magic tricks for their peers.
Inquiring further into the unit, students watched a video about the explorers in the past and created their notes using 'Cornell note taking'.
They also designed some questions for their personal inquiries/ passion projects.
For guided reading, after reading their books in groups, students were provided with some words and were asked to find their synonyms.
During Hindi lessons, students participated in literature circle activities and listened to a poem titled- Chale hum bhi ghumne. They expressed their understanding through picture sequence and self-reflection. The students also created their stories using the puppets.
For their enrichment, the students started with the Football coaching this week.
