Welcome back, its week-28

This week, students revisited and consolidated their understanding of the concepts taught prior to the mid-term break. They conveyed their comprehension of the module centred around 'Where we are in place and time' in a meaningful manner. In UOI, we touched upon and reflected on the lines of inquiry and discussed tools and methods used by the explorers for exploration. We also discussed how technology was used by explorers in the past. Students are encouraged to find out more about current tools, methods, and technology used by explorers in recent times.

For Maths, students recapitulated the concept of graphs in data handling.

The learners focussed on selecting the samples for their portfolios.

For SEL, students participated in the mindfulness session followed by activities suggested by Ms Karishma.

Students created a story while looking at a picture prompt. They were guided to use the picture for the characters and their actions. The learners had to use their imagination and elements of the story in their written expression.

During Fun Zone, students of the Junior School engaged in a fun and meaningful afternoon by serving the school community. In the true spirit of the school’s mission for stewardship, students engaged in clearing litter, gardening, washing dishes, helping Sodexo staff and segregating stationery from classrooms. It was precious to see these young citizens of tomorrow looking after their environment with care and a sense of duty. (Write-up credit- Mr. Abhi)

Students drew and interpreted bar and line graphs during the Maths lessons.
For guided reading, students read their books in groups. They are provided with a spelling journal where they will write new words identified from the books they read and maintain them.
To culminate our unit of inquiry of exploration, students watched a video 'Duck and Rabbit' and were read a book aloud with the title- Encounter. The video and the book were based on the key concept- Perspective. Students participated through listening to the book and speaking about their views and opinions about the pictures and text in the book.
Students participated in Literature circle activities in the library and listened to a story called 'Gwalan Ke Sapne'. They have integrated this story with the IB learner profile attributes. They borrowed Hindi books from the library and practised reading, and did spell drills.
Students are thrilled and are looking forward to the next week as we have our camping night on campus on Friday, the 24th of March.
