Week-32 and the countdown begins!

This week, students presented their understanding of the different ways in which they can resolve conflicts. They were guided with a few strategies that can be applied in their day-to-day lives. The students were provided with some case studies in groups for them to analyse the situations and come up with conflict resolutions.

As a follow-up to the cultures unit, students had an opportunity to watch a documentary about Hyderabad's Culture. Thereafter, the person, Ms Uma, who made the documentary, joined us on a video conference from Ireland for feedback and discussion. It was really interesting to know some of the unknown facts about our own city.
Students discussed the case studies in groups during the UOI lessons.
Mindfulness session in the library with Grades 1, 2, and 3.
Students have been practising the reading strategy of sequencing. This week, they were given a comprehension task followed by sequencing the events. They were also asked to sequence the events after reading their guided reading texts.
In Maths, students learned about factors and multiples. They learned about factorization by creating and completing factor trees.
They were also guided to conduct a peer check of the concept they learned- symmetrical patterns.
Students had fun during the literature study session. Many students expressed their interest in reading the chapters from the book. The students were also paired with their buddies to read a couple of chapters. Ivan, the character in the book, has anchored everyone to read further. Ms Latha also read a couple of chapters and guided the students to research about their names, meanings, and significance. This will provide them with an opportunity to dig deeper into their identities as individuals.
Students watched a story related to peace and rewrote the story using the strategy of beginning, middle, and end. They integrated it with the AK strand. They also learned about punctuation marks and tenses in Hindi and wrote sentences in their notebooks. (Write-up and picture credit: Ms Meena)

During the enrichment lesson, students enjoyed playing football with their friends and the coach.
It is amazing to see how students learn from one another. :)
